VickyStubbsPSHE:
Specialist in Bystander Intervention training
for young people to reduce sexual harassment and abuse,
and in tackling misogyny in a way that supports boys and young men.
Curriculum Consulting
Over the years, Vicky has worked with a range of systems for teaching PSHE and RSE, from drop-down days with available staff to timetabled lessons taught by subject specialist teachers. Having successfully navigated inspections and reviews, she knows how to check and provide evidence that curricula are meeting statutory Department for Education requirements,
Vicky uses anonymous pupil and staff surveys to assess local need and also enjoys working with small groups of young people to stimulate ‘pupil voice’ contributions to curriculum design, so optimising provision for maximum effectiveness.
Employed as one of the Department for Education’s Expert Teachers advising on non-statutory guidance for RSE, Vicky has also been invited to write a blog for the DfE on misogynistic online influencers. She is also a partner of the Sex Education Forum, enabling her to keep up to date with new developments in RSE. In the words of a previous colleague in school pastoral managment, she has “a strong awareness of emerging priorities and how they fit into the life of a school".
Megan Taylor
(PSHE coordinator, Middle School, Highgate School)
“She had an excellent relationship with both students and staff at Highgate and valued the importance of working collaboratively to get the best from the PSHE lessons in a busy school environment.
Vicky understood that the students were at the centre (of) good PSHE teaching and was responsive to the pupil voice to develop and progress the PSHE lessons.”
Arthur Dabrowski
(Head of Middle School, Highgate School)
"She had the foresight to begin developing our bystander awareness programme prior to everyone’s invited, which put us on the front foot when we subsequently reformed our PSHE provision”
